Larkfleet Homes release latest HomeBuy Direct property in Bourne
29 July 2010
Larkfleet Homes has sold one of its latest properties as part the Homebuy Direct scheme on its Old Laundry Site development in Bourne, Lincolnshire.
HomeBuy Direct, initiated by the previous government, is a product from the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) that aims to make more new affordable homes available to eligible buyers priced out of the housing market.
It allows buyers to purchase a minimum of 70 per cent of the market value of a property. An equity loan of up to 30 per cent is then provided by Larkfleet and the HCA to assist the purchase. From legal completion buyers own 100 per cent of their new home.
However people wishing to be considered for the HomeBuy Direct scheme must act quickly as Homebuy Direct funding on many housing sites is finishing. Therefore this opportunity for first time buyers to get a foot on the housing ladder is coming to an end.
Simon Chadwick recently purchased a two-bedroom, three-storey property from Larkfleet Homes on the Old Laundry Site in Bourne as part of the Homebuy Direct scheme.
Simon said: "I have lived in Bourne for over 20 years and was looking for a new property in the same area. When I came across these Larkfleet Homes properties at the Old Laundry Site I thought the location was ideal for me.
"The quality of the property is exceptional and to be able to take advantage of the Homebuy Direct scheme has made the purchase of a home a lot easier for me. I can't wait to move in."
Applications for the Homebuy Direct scheme on existing sites need to be submitted within the next four weeks in order to ensure they are completed by September this year. Larkfleet Homes can provide independent financial advice that also offers a complete service to manage the application.
Managing director Karl Hick commented: "Properties that are available though HomeBuy Direct provide a great opportunity for those priced out of the housing market to be able to buy their own home. There is not much time left for prospective house buyers to take advantage of this scheme and therefore Larkfleet Homes is encouraging first time buyers to apply for Homebuy Direct within the next four weeks."
Larkfleet Homes currently has two other developments that offer homes under Homebuy Direct and both sites could provide your new home by September.
Also in Bourne, Larkfleet Homes has a development on Willoughby Walk, where two bedroom coach houses and three bedroom houses are currently at prices starting from £135,995.
The company's development at Parsons Prospect on Thorney Road in Eye near Peterborough currently has both two and three bedroom homes available, starting from £162,995. Under the scheme the mortgage could be as low as £114,096.
